Chaul Sanskar, also known as Mundan Sanskar, is one of the key rites of passage (samskaras) in Hindu tradition. It is performed to cleanse the child of negative energies carried from past lives and to promote healthy growth of the body, mind, and intellect. Symbolically, it marks the beginning of discipline and learning.
Traditionally performed in the 1st, 3rd, or 5th year of a child’s life, this ceremony is believed to strengthen memory, improve mental clarity, and enhance spiritual sensitivity. It is accompanied by Vedic rituals, mantras, blessings, and symbolic offerings to deities.
The ceremony is conducted at home or in a temple, with the presence of family, elders, and priests to bless the child’s growth and development.
